Edie Kelley here from the Rock Hesperia's House of Prayer. I hope you are well and enjoying the blessings of the Lord during this trying COVID quarantine time.
Because we are revamping the ministry model at The Rock, I am tasked with developing THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect of ministry -- PRAYER.
We are currently looking to expand our prayer teams in four different areas:
1. PRAYER REQUESTS THAT COME IN ON OUR WEEKLY SERVICE CARDS
This entails receiving emails from me at the beginning of each week to be covered in prayer on behalf of our Rock Family.
2. PRAYER CALLS THAT COME IN TO OUR PRAYER REQUEST LINE
These requests come in from calls made to our newly created Prayer Request Line. They may be from our congregational members, or from people in our High Desert communities who might not attend church at all. We have established this prayer line as an outreach to anyone in need of prayer. These requests would be forwarded via email or phone texts, as per your preference.
3. EMERGENCY 911 PRAYER FOR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION
These calls are urgent, and must be handled immediately. As you can imagine, they vary greatly -- from victims of tragic accidents to sudden deaths. Because time is critical, these calls will be disseminated via phone calls and text messages, not email. Frequent updates will be passed on as soon as they come in.
4. ON-GOING PRAYER FOR OUR PASTORAL TEAM AND CHURCH MINISTRIES
This is specific to The Rock Hesperia and those who actually oversee our various ministries and outreaches.
Subjects to be covered regularly in prayer would include our Lead Pastors, Jeff and Jennifer Little; administrative leaders who oversee The Rock Hesperia's ministries and volunteers (ushers, greeters, worship team, tech team, pastoral ministry, communications, etc.); our Operation Solid Lives (OSL) discipleship program; Children's ministries; Now-Gen Youth ministry; even parachurch ministries of those in our church family, like Restore Unity (homeless outreach), etc.
Unlike the prayer opportunities outlined in numbers 1 -3, a list of names and departments would be emailed to you just once, with periodic updates as changes occur.
We also have openings to join the OSL International prayer team that covers our missionary partners as they launch OSL in other countries.
Once things get flowing in the new normal (with all safety), we will have more opportunities to minister to each other one-on-one, such as our Altar Ministry Team.
So, if you have a heart for intercession, and would like to be added to the Prayer Team, please let me know. You can contact me by calling/texting The House of Prayer line at (760) 488-7842, or by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
